Ethel L. Edwards

Ethel L. Edwards, 90, of 73 Brownwood Avenue, West Asheville, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in an Asheville nursing center. Mrs. Edwards was a daughter of the late Judd and Eula Paralee Buckner Laughter and was married to the late Ernest Floyd Edwards. She worked as a saleslady at Fain’s Department Store on Biltmore Avenue for 35 years before her retirement in 1978, and was a member of Cornerstone Church. She is survived by two sons, Ernest Edwards and Charles Edwards of Asheville; a sister Elon Pritchard of Anderson, SC, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeffrey Hober officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
