Eugene Frederick McElrath

Asheville – Eugene Frederick McElrath, 80, of Marigold Street, died Monday, February 20, 2006 in a local healthcare facility. A native of Asheville, he was the son of the late Reid L. and Frances Hollifield McElrath. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. McElrath is survived by a sister, Mary Isabell McCarthy of Fletcher and two brothers, Gerald McElrath of Lincolnton and Jackie McElrath of Fletcher. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Enka conducted by Chaplain Melba Banks.
