Eugenie Bernhard Metarko, 91, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Deerfield Retirement Community.
A native of Southern Bavaria in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Ida Entress Bernhard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William John Metarko, who passed away in August of 2005.
She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Hodges and Sharon Metarko and two grandsons, John Wayne Leasman and Tas Leasman, all of San Antonio, TX.
A funeral service and interment will be held starting at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 18, 2015 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 in the Health Care Chapel of Deerfield Retirement Community.
