Eula F. Carland, age 98, of Angola, Indiana, formerly of Mills River, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Angola, Indiana.
Eula was born on January 11, 1925 in Canton, North Carolina to the late Lawrence and Connie Alice (Forrester) Frady.
Eula married H.W. (Rusty) Carland on June 30, 1945.
She loved all sports but was especially happy when her “boys” were playing baseball. She was employed by Olin for 30 years.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law; Anita (Claude) Hale of Angola, Indiana, a grandson; Robert (Jennifer) Hale of Angola, Indiana, great-grandchildren; Parker (Bryce) Hale of Kankakee, Illinois, and Braeden Hale of Angola, Indiana, sisters, Josephine Whitaker of Arden, North Carolina, and Lorraine Norris of Catawba, South Carolina, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; H.W. “Rusty” Carland, parents; Lawrence and Connie Frady, sisters; Dorothy, DeeLee, and Ola, and a Brother; Hanchel.
Visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am, Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Mills River, North Carolina.
The service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, Mills River, North Carolina with Rev. Porter Jennings officiating.
Burial will follow in the Church’s cemetery.
Memorial donations in her memory may be directed to the Orland American Legion Post # 423, P.O. Box 448, Orland, Indiana 46776 or to the Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Mills River, North Carolina.

Dear Anita,
I am so very sorry to hear about Aunt Eula’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. When I thnk of your mother, one of my fondest early childhood memories was wading in the creek with her at Nanny’s and “sailing” yellow squash boats downstream. We played in that cold water for what must have been hours. Eula was such a gracious, kind, and beautiful lady. May God give you peace and comfort. Carol Miles Davis
