Eunice Kate Kitchin, 72, of Rt. 3, Candler School Road, Candler, died unexpectedly Thursday, July 24, 1969, at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville.

Mrs. Kitchin was born in Jackson County and was a daughter of the late Benjamin and May Belle Cooper Henson. She was a homemaker and an active member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

She was survived by her husband, William Paul Kitchin; four daughters, Mrs. R.L. Hyatt of Freemont, OH, Miss Norris Kitchin of Morganton, NC, Mrs. Kenneth Joyner of Asheville and Mrs. Troy Hawkins of Decatur, GA; two sons, Reeves Kitchin of Atlanta, GA and Willard Kitchin of Whittier, NC; a brother, Witsel Henson of Hendersonville, NC, 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2:00 pm Saturday, July 26, 1969, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charlie D. Mehaffey officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Charles Swayngim, James Odum, Robert Williams, Tommy Franklin and Ray Pressley.
