Eva Glenn

eva glenn

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eva Adaline Luther Glenn: a caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left our world on January 29th, 2024, to rejoin her beloved sister Aldene in heaven, at age 86.

Born on July 21, 1937, in Leicester, North Carolina, the daughter of Loretta and Loran, she was an avid animal lover and gardener- she loved to see wild animals congregate at her bird feeders, and especially loved to see squirrels and cardinals, and loved her pets like they were her own children.

Eva lived a full and meaningful life, touching the hearts of all who knew her. She was a dedicated friend, always there to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. Everyone who knew her absolutely lit up when talking about her, she was a beacon of light for her community.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Woodfin Glenn, and her 3 children: Mark Chapman, Gina Chapman, and Kimberly Setzer. Through her children, she had 9 grandchildren (Brandon, Stephanie, Lacey, Rebekah, Emily, Jonathon, Benjamin, Jessie and Austin), and 7 great-grandchildren that she loved endlessly.

A family memorial service will be held at Pisgah View Memorial Park.

Flowers may be sent to Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, as our Mom loved flowers.

  1. Woody, Gina and all the family I am so sorry to hear about Eva. What a wonderful lady she was she always treated me just like apart of her family. May God bless all of you at this time. I am sorry I will not be able to attend the service as I am not well at this time but please know we send our love and prayers to all of you.

    • Gina, I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you. May God bless you and your family at this time.

  2. Kim, Austin & family, what a loving legacy your Mother leaves. You are both wonderful examples of her love. We send our love and prayers. Blessings of peace to you all.

  3. To the family of Eva Glenn, I am so sorry to read of her passing. She was our daughter’s first baby sitter. As a new mother, I was afraid if I tried to cut her little fingernails, I would cut her fingers; therefore Eva would do it!
May God give you the comfort you need!
    Judy Ward

  4. Remembering the family during this time. Always loved running in to her at Ingles and would catch up on the family. Prayers…

  5. Gina, I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was one of the sweetest people. I know you’ll miss her.
