Eva went to be with God on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, after an extended illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Buncombe Co., and was always putting her family first. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Rosie Dietz. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William Joseph Jones, who died in 2009.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her two daughters, Sheena Newell and husband Joe, and Katrina Gosnell and husband James; three grandsons, Dustin Newell, Colton Newell and James "Bubba" Gosnell; a granddaughter, Samantha Gosnell; and great-granddaughter, Kaley Newell.
She was a very loving wife, mother, and Nannie. She will be loved and missed forever until we see her again in Heaven.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
Sheena and Trina, we are so sorry for the loss of Aunt Eva. We loved her dearly. I will always remember her with fond memories. Should yall need anything please call. We love yall.
Sheena and Joe, my deepest sympathy for you and your family. I know how close you were, Sheena, to your mother, and how VERY DIFFICULT this time is for you. My prayers and love are with you and your family during this time of need. No that your mom is now at peace and will always be with you.AMEN
Katrina, i am so sorry for your loss, i know how close you are to your family. Im also sorry for not keeping in touch with you. If you need anything please email me and i will give you my number or look on facebook under austin mathews. I wish i could have been there for you when your father passed, i didnt know. I know you are strong and have alot of support, but if you need someone else to talk to dont forget me. Im truly sorry for not being there for you. Love Tonya

Bill and Eva were my fvorites. They helped raise me when my mom got sick. I will always remember them. God bless you guys!!
