Evelyn Gatlin, 88, formerly of Asheville, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in St. Petersburg, FL.
Miss Gatlin was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Joseph S. and Beulah Johnson Gatlin. She was a former employee of Square D and had lived in St. Petersburg for the past four years.
She was a former member of the ABWA and was an active member and longtime secretary of the Asheville Wesleyan Church where she was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class.
Surviving are her nieces, Margaret Gatlin, Judie McCracken and her husband, Bob, and Debbie Russell and her husband, Jim; great-nieces and nephew, Sherry Dickerman, Laura Smith, David Mills, Marci Hill and her husband, Kevin, and Rhonda Reynolds, and several great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery.
Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
