Evelyn Gatlin

Evelyn Gatlin, 88, formerly of Asheville, died Tuesday, September 12, 2006 in St. Petersburg, FL. Miss Gatlin was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Joseph S. and Beulah Johnson Gatlin. She was a former employee of Square D and had lived in St. Petersburg for the past four years. She was a former member of the ABWA and was an active member and longtime secretary of the Asheville Wesleyan Church where she was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class. Surviving are her nieces, Margaret Gatlin, Judie McCracken and her husband, Bob, and Debbie Russell and her husband, Jim; great-nieces and nephew, Sherry Dickerman, Laura Smith, David Mills, Marci Hill and her husband, Kevin, and Rhonda Reynolds, and several great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Weaver officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery.
