Evelyn Mae Meadows, 82, of Asheville, died Tuesday, October 31, 2000 in a local nursing facility following an extended illness.
A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Artie and Lottie Wyatt Meadows. Ms. Meadows was retired from the US Government Climatic Center December 7, 1986 with 43 years of service.
Survivors include her sister, Kathleen Meadows of Asheville and a brother, Lee Mitchell Meadows and his wife Majorie of Matthews, NC; nieces and nephews, Terri Rorie, Janet Allgood, Mitchell Meadows; and great nieces and nephews, Chris and Lauren Rogers, Julie Cole, Katelyn
Shoemate, Blaine Decker, and Allen Meadows.
Graveside services will be 11:00 Friday at Green Hills Cemetery with Rev. Don Welborn officiating.
Groce Funeral Home, Patton Avenue, is in charge of arrangements.
