Evelyn White

Peggy Evelyn Ferguson White, 83, of Asheville, died Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Brian Center of Weaverville. A native of Haywood Co., she was a daughter of the late James Vernon and Lelia Ramey Ferguson. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Lawrence Samuel Tipton, sister, Pauline Ferguson Sprinkle, and brother, Dr. William Clay Ferguson. Mrs. White was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Surviving are her husband of sixty-three years, Richard Milton White, Sr.; daughter, Donna White Davis and husband Greg; sons, Richard Milton White, Jr., and David Edison White, Sr., and wife Kristie; grandchildren, David Edison White, Jr., Jesse Tyler White, Melissa Nicole White, Andrew Graham White and wife Maria, and Anna Grace White; brother-in-law Bill Sprinkle; and numerous nieces and nephews in the Winston-Salem - High Point area. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
