Peggy Evelyn Ferguson White, 83, of Asheville, died Monday, February 1, 2016, at the Brian Center of Weaverville.
A native of Haywood Co., she was a daughter of the late James Vernon and Lelia Ramey Ferguson. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Lawrence Samuel Tipton, sister, Pauline Ferguson Sprinkle, and brother, Dr. William Clay Ferguson.
Mrs. White was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and homemaker.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-three years, Richard Milton White, Sr.; daughter, Donna White Davis and husband Greg; sons, Richard Milton White, Jr., and David Edison White, Sr., and wife Kristie; grandchildren, David Edison White, Jr., Jesse Tyler White, Melissa Nicole White, Andrew Graham White and wife Maria, and Anna Grace White; brother-in-law Bill Sprinkle; and numerous nieces and nephews in the Winston-Salem - High Point area.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Asheville Humane Society, 14 Forever Friend Lane, Asheville NC 28806.

We share in your sorrow in the loss of our dear friend Evelyn, we were in school together and close neighbors for years, she was a wonderful person and a very caring person, she will be missed very much.I know she is at peace now and walking hand in hand with our precious Lord.
