F. Philip Seay, 81, of 23 Cloyes Street, Asheville, died Wednesday, June 27, 2001, in an Asheville hospital.

Mr. Seay was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late John and Bertha Hollar Seay. He was an Army veteran of WW II and was a life member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He and his wife were also part time residents of Homosassa, FL.

He was a retired manager with Winn-Dixie Stores and was the owner and operator of C&W Vending Co. He was a member of the American Legion and of Elks Lodge No. 608.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Smith Seay; two sisters, Marjorie Snider of Asheville and Cornelia Jarrett of Arden; and two brothers, David Seay of Knoxville, TN and H. Morris Seay of Asheville.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Neiting officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery.

His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
