Fannie Shuler Green, 98, of Asheville, died Friday, October 17, 2003.
A native of Bryson city, she was a daughter of the late William Harvey and Sara Blanton Shuler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elsie F. Green; a sister, Bertie Brendle; four brothers, Floyd, George, Roy and Vernal Shuler. She was a former employee of Sayles/Biltmore Bleacheries for 17 years.
Mrs. Green is survived by a sister, Pearl Shuler Martin of Bryson City and a number of nieces and nephews including Peggy S. Smith.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Harold Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Shuler, Cub Shuler, Ray Westbrook, William Shuler, Ted Shuler and Wayne Craig. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Atkinson and Aaron Atkinson.
Her family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
