Faye Bradley Rickman, 83, went to be with the Lord Friday, October 16, 2015.
A native of Asheville, Mrs. Rickman was a daughter of the late Virgil B. and Ada Bryson Bradley. Along with them, she joins her husband of 52 years Carroll Lee Rickman, who died in 2002, and her nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her five children and their families, Michael L. Rickman and David Dysart of Deland, FL, Bobby Rickman and Debbie of Chuckey, TN, Kathy Hembree and Ken of Weaverville, Jeff Rickman and Susan of Asheville, and Gary Rickman and Ellen of Asheville; grandchildren, Mary Palmer (Charlie), Andrew Rickman (Lisa Norris), Amy Shelton (Jeremiah), Ashley Rickman, Kirby James (Steven), Dana Carter (Chris), Laurie Coursey (Wayne), Kaley Hembree, Jake Rickman, and Katie Rickman; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rickman retired from the State of NC, having worked as a nutritionist for 15 years. She was a member of Asheville Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible Class. She also worked in child care for a number of years.
She loved all children and had an amazing smile for everyone she met. She exemplified a true southern lady. She is deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Rash officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

The family expresses special appreciation to the Brian Center of Weaverville staff for the loving care they provided.
I wish to express my thoughts and prayers to the Rickman family. They were wonderful friends to my late husband Randy Beck and myself for many years. Faye and Carroll were such loving and wonderful friends and family to us. My love goes out to you all. I am here if you need me. i remember so many laughter filled times we shared together. My love and sympathy to all.

Faye was a blessing to our mother (Ella Mann) her next door neighbor at the Brian Center. Just keep remembering Faye’s sweet smile. Our prayers are with the family.

For my family of cousins: Aunt Faye was so special to me. I truly loved her and always made me laugh. Our trip to Las Vegas was so much fun because she was with us. I am happy for her because her faith was so strong and we know where she is now. I will miss her. My love goes out to all of you because I know how much you will miss her. You had a wonderful Mom filled with love for her children and family.
