Faye M. Green, 75, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Green was born in Randolph County, AL to the late John H. and Gladys Bassett McKay. She was retired as a Supervisor in the Medical Records Department at the VA Medical Center and was a member of Reynolds Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Harley Green; sons Greg Green and his wife, Cindy of Fairview and Mickey Green and his wife, Donna of Asheville; her daughter Vicki Warren and her husband, John of Fairview; 7 grandchildren, Ronnie Rice, Eric, Brandon, Ashley, Derek, Jared and Neleah Green; two great grandchildren, Hailey Rice and Madison Green; brothers, Grady McKay of Chattanooga, TN and Curtis McKay of Potomac, MD; also, her dog, Peanut, who was the love of her life.
A funeral service will be held Monday, April 1, 2013 at 1 P.M. in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. Rev. Bobby Smith and Rev. Stacey Harris will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the WNC State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.

I was saddened to hear of the death of Faye. What special memories I have of the Greene family. Sally, my daughter, was in her daycare for over a year in 1973-74. She loved Faye and ‘Ha-de’. I appreciate the kindness and love she was given. My prayers are with you. Many blessings.
