Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Our hearts go out to the family! Genie
was a devoted mother and a great neighbor/friend. Many wonderful memories with the family!

  2. Dear Jeff: My deepest sympathy to you and your family in the passing of your dear Mother, Genie. I always looked forward to seeing your Mom at some of the Insurance Claims Meetings in Asheville when your Dad and Mom would attend social events. As you know, your Dad and I worked at Crawford & Company together for nearly ten years at Executive Park. Your Mom was a brilliant conversationalist and I always learned something from her. She will always hold a special place in my heart. Your Dad and Genie were there for me when I lost my dear Mom and Dad. That meant a lot. They were “Inner Circle” in my life. I am out of town on the day of your Mom’s service and will be unable to attend. Please know how much I cared for your folks. You will be reunited with your Mom and Dad on that glorious day when there is no more pain or loss of memory! With deepest sympathy. Gerry Huntley

    • Gerry, thank you so much, and I promise I’ll give you a long overdue call this week. God bless and take care.

  3. Jeff and Steve, My sister and I, Nona and Lisa, are so sorry to hear of Genie’s passing. I’m sorry we didn’t know in time to attend the funeral service yesterday. My mom and dad, Ken and Doris Swayngim and Frank and Genie were the best of friends. Mom and dad’s grandchildren, Whitney, Katlyn, Josh, Savannah and Isaac always looked forward to cards from your mom every birthday and Christmas. She never forgot about them. She was a special person. My mother passed away 12/17/2023. I’m sure she was there to welcome your mom! Please know we are thinking about your family.

    • Hi Lisa! Thank you so much for this, and condolences for the loss of your mom as well. We really enjoyed every time we got to go out to eat with Kenneth and Doris when we were in town visiting, and they were so good to our kids as well. Your parents helped me, also, with making decisions for Mom right after Dad died. My parents definitely loved your parents, as well as you and your sister, and the grandchildren. Please say hi to Kenneth, and I hope he is as well as can be. Keep in touch, please: e-mail me at jeffreyapeake@gmail.com and we can exchange #’s etc. Thanks again.
