Florence Barber Dismukes

Florence Barber Dismukes Asheville ~Florence Barber Dismukes, 99, of Asheville, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at Deerfield Skilled Nursing Center. A native of Moultrie, GA, she was a daughter of the late William Henry and Florence Flora Parrish Barber. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Forman Dismukes, Sr. who died in 1993; a son, Arthur Forman Dismukes, Jr. who died in 2010 and a grandson, Blair Forman Dismukes who died in 2005. Florence is survived by one daughter, Anne Dismukes Shepard of Portsmouth, NH; one son, Paul Fitzgerald Dismukes and his wife, Chris, of Asheville; three granddaughters, Elizabeth Dismukes, Morrie Killian and her husband, Glenn and Sarah Mobius as well as two great-grandsons, Logan and Bradley Killian. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 11, 2012 at Christ Church Cemetery in St. Simon Island, GA under the direction of Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian in Arden is assisting the family locally. In lieu of flowers, the family graciously asks that memorial donations be made to the Deerfield Retirement Community Residents Fund, 1617 Hendersonville Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
