Frances Carolyn Schell

Frances Carolyn Schell, 85, of Bear Creek Lane, Asheville, died Saturday, September 23, 2006. Miss Schell was born in Akron, OH, and was a daughter of the late John Q. and Nannie Neal Schell, Sr. She was a 1937 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School and worked as office manager and bookkeeper for various engineering and contractor firms in Asheville, Hickory and Charlotte. She was a lifelong Lutheran and at the time of her death was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She is survived by three brothers, John Q. Schell and his wife, Margaret, of Asheville, Robert J. Schell and his wife, Lucy, of Asheville, and Edwin C. Schell and his wife, Betty, of Lenoir; five nieces, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. A memorial service will be held later at Emmanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. Frederick S. Stiemke officiating. Private interment was at Green Hills Cemetery. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Vision 20/10 Fund at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 51 Wilburn Place, Asheville, NC 28806.
