Frances Jane Carter, 79, formerly of Candler, died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at Memorial Campus, Mission Hospitals.
Miss Carter was a native of Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Thad and Areva McCarson Carter. She was retired after 28 years with American Enka and she was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sisters, Martha Cooke and her husband, Merle, of Candler and Geneva Temple of Greensboro; niece, Melissa Froelke, of Dallas, GA, and two nephews, Nathan Cooke, of Sanford, and Johnathan Cooke, of Raleigh.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Rodney Hagans, Jr. officiating.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00 ? 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and suggest that memorials be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 587 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
