Frances Miller Pruitt

Mrs. Pruitt was a native of Gaston County and was a daughter of the late General Lee and Lula Caldwell Miller.   She had lived in Buncombe County for 30 years and had been married for 50 years to James F. Pruitt, Sr., who died December 31, 1997.  She was a member of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Pruitt, and a son and daughter-in-law, James F. and Joan Pruitt, Jr.;  two sisters, Mary Kate Griffin and Lula Mae Poteat;  three brothers, Clarence, Raymond, and Lloyd Miller;  and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 5:00 pm Monday at Groce Funeral Home Chapel on Patton Avenue with the Rev. Gerald Sprinkle officiating.  Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Francis Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the service Monday evening until 7:00 pm, and at other times will be at the home of her son.
