Frances Morrison, 83, of Asheville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2007. A native of Macon Co., Mrs. Morrison was a daughter of the late Henry and Ruth Mashburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Willard Morrison, who died in 2000, and by her brother, Joe Mashburn. Mrs. Morrison retired from Southern Bell as an operator. She was a member of Oakley Baptist Church. Mrs. Morrison is survived by her daughter, Shea Rhodes and husband Jon, of Asheville; stepdaughter, Helen Wright and husband Dean; stepson, Arlo Morrison and wife Betsy; sisters, Betty Moffitt and Edna Burnette, of Asheville, and Susie Shires, of Alexandria, VA; brothers, Jack, Richard, Johnny, and Wayne Mashburn, all of Franklin, and Gene Mashburn, of Dothan, AL; a granddaughter, Shelby Rhodes; and step-grandchildren, Jerry Morrison, and Sandie Price. A graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas A. Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends 1-3:00 p.m. Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. Memorials may be made to Oakley Baptist Church, 70 Fairview Ave., Asheville, NC 28803.
