Frances Wright Rudd

Frances Wright Rudd, 92, died Sunday, December 11, 2005, at Becky’s Rest Home, Fairview. Mrs. Rudd was born in Alexander and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Nannie Sprouse Wright. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harris Rudd, and by a brother Eugene Wright. Mrs. Rudd was a member of the Asheville First Church of the Nazarene and a member of Chapter 291, Order of Eastern Star. She was retired from Ivey’s of Asheville. Surviving are her brother, Charlie J. Wright and a nephew Gerald L. Wright, both of Fairview; two great-nieces, one great-nephew, four great-great-nieces, and two great-great-nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Harris officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Dean Wright, Bobby Jones, Clyde Dalton, Bill Fisher, Charles McGuinn, and Ambrose Davis. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the home of Gerald Wright, 45 Maple Lane, Fairview.
