Francis J. Pelletier, 92, of 253 Hookers Gap Road, Candler, died Sunday, March 5, 2006. Mr. Pelletier was born in Waterbury, CT, and was a son of the late John B. and Florama LaRiviere Pelletier. He was a graduate of St. Thomas Seminary in Hartford, CT and was retired as paymaster from Sherwood Medical in Waterbury. He moved to Asheville in 1986 and was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years. He is survived by a sister, Dolores Paul of Salem, MA and a brother, Jean W. Pelletier and his wife, Fran Salone-Pelletier, of Shallotte, NC, and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. John M. Pagel at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury, CT. His family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church Building Fund, 919 Haywood Road, Asheville, NC 28806.

  2. I was glad to have visited with Francis a few times. He was very kind and we enjoyed our chats. Francis particularly seemed to appreciate the prayers that I offered for him. The church family of Pole Creek Baptist church is asking God to comfort your family in this time of sorrow.

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT MR PELLETIER…HE WAS A GOOD NEIGHBOR…WHEN I TOOK HIM FOOD OR GOODIES,,HE WAS GRATEFUL…MY GRAN-KIDS LOVED TO GO VISIT AT CHRISTMAS,,,HE WOULD TREAT YOU LIKE ROYALTY,,GET OUT HIS BEST TO SERVE YOU TEA AND CAKE OR WHATEVER…HE WAS NOT HAPPY AFTER HE GOT TIL HE COULDN’T DRIVE…I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIS LAST TELEPHONE CONVERSATION…SOME THINGS ARE HARD TO CONCEIVE… THE BIBLE SAYS DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO TO YOU..HE IS IN A BETTER PLACE..CHERISH HIS MEMORIES,THEY ARE FOREVER….JEAN
