Fletcher - Frank J. DeCarlo, 86, died March 21, 2001 at Mission St. Joseph’s Hospital following a brief notice. He was a native of Fairmont, WV and lived there until a year ago when he and his wife relocated to NC to be near immediate family.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Forchi DeCarlo; his daughter and son-in-law, Frances and John Pignanelli of Fletcher; grandsons, Brian and Jason Pignanelli of New York, NY and Chicago, IL; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna DeCarlo of Miami, FL and grandson Michael DeCarlo of Orlando, FL.

He was a member of St, Barnabas Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, UMW and the VFW. He retired after 41 years of service with Barrackville Mines.

He served four years in Europe with the US Army during WW II and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Medal of Honor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday, March 24, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Fairmont, WV.
