Dear Nancy and Susie…All of our family join you and the kids in your grief for your loss of Frank.
Love……Albert 🙁
In memory of my loving uncle, Frank Thorne Leppert, Jr……
God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes,
He whispered to you ‘Peace be Thine’ and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You’ve left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you’re always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.
Until we meet again in Heaven, Uncle, RIP
Nancy and Family, Having grown up in W. Asheville and also attended Vance, Hall Fletcher, and Lee Edwards with Morris and Henry I was only aware of John and you as the older siblings. The Mays and your Market were West Asheville Institutions. Regardless of age, health, or any other circumstance we are never ready to give up our loved ones. A real Faith in the Sovereignty of God and the manifested concern of caring friends provide the only source of comfort. Please know we are thinking of you! Joe Clark

Nancy and Susie,
I was saddened to learn of Frank’s death. I remember fondly May’s Market and all that it afforded the residents of West Asheville.
How many times I remember walking from grandmother’s house at 57 Herron Avenue to ‘the store’ and getting to pick out what I wanted to eat for my weekend at her house. I remember spending many an hour with Mom as we shopped. when I was a kid.
Your family provided a service, a friendship…a way of life for lots of folks through the years. You and Frank provided opportunities for lots of folks to have a job…I remember several Hutchisons who were among them…I regret that I didn’t have that privilege.
The landscape of West Asheville was forever changed by May’s Market…a true American institution.
Pris and I send our love, our caring and our sympathy in your time of loss. We regret that we will not be able to be with you in person but please now that we will lift you and yours up in prayer on Tuesday and in the days to come.
Love,
Daren and Pris Hutchison
Nancy and Susie, Frank, Gerri, Brian, Chris, and Niki I am sorry for your loss. He was one of the few good men still on this earth. He meant the world to all of us and we will all miss him dearly. Though we are all saddened and will miss him we must all remember that he no longer suffers and will be chillin’ with grandmother perry looking down on us and giving us advice on things. I am very sorry and I love you all.
Danielle

Susie: Daddy called to tell me about your dad. In our conversation he told me that he was one of the best fellows he had ever known and that he had known him ever since he arrived in Asheville back in the ’50’s. From all that he said (and that was ALOT) he sounds like the kind of person who was a friend to everyone he met – what a loss to all, but especially to his family. I am so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family. Peace be with you. LaNita

With love, Cousin Frances

I have fond memories of Mr.Leppert. He was always very kind to me when my father,Conley Gibbs would take me grocery shopping at his store. Even though I was just a child running around in his grocery store, he would never call me down. I loved going to see him and Nancy.
Dear Nancy and Susie, A big hug from Sandi and me. I’m sooo sorry. This place is a better place because we had Frank. Nancy, you and Susie are in our prayers.
Much love, Paul & Sandi Ownbey
I was sorry to learn of Mr. Leppert’s passing. My dad (Dan Page) worked in May’s Market back in the early 1960’s. I was only 6 or so at the time and I just barely remember going to May’s Market to shop. It certainly goes to show what a small world this is. May Christ comfort the family in this time of healing.
Dear Nancy,
We are so very sorry to hear of the loss of Frank. A faithful and loving husband to you and wonderful father and grandfather to the children. We will all miss him. You and all of his dear family are in our thoughts and prayers. our love and deepest sympathy go out to all of you. Kathleen & Everett
