Arden ~ Franklin Ducker, of Spring Valley Court, Arden, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2004.
He was born October 19, 1932 in Buncombe County and was the son of the late Lloyd and Celia Gasperson Ducker. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Cortez Ducker, Jr. and James William Eugene Ducker. Mr. Ducker retired from the US Air force after 25 years of dedicated service and was a member of the Arden Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jane Kirk Ducker of Arden; three daughters, S’ine Trent and her husband Andy of Lacy’s Spring, AL, Beverly Anderson and her husband Tim of Linwood, NC and Heather Osborne and her husband Chris of Abbeville, SC; eight grandchildren, Erica McNeese and her husband Bill of Madison, AL, Ian Trent of Auburn, AL, Christian, Lauren, Ben and Matthew Anderson all of Linwood, NC, John and Andrew Osborne both of Abbeville, SC; one brother, David Ducker and his wife Pat of Asheville; two sisters-in-law, Violet Ducker of Mills River and Glenna Moye of Knoxville; maternal aunt, Ann Metcalf of Arden.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 3, 2005 in the chapel of the WNC State Veteran’s Cemetery with the Rev. Ken Crabb officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Buncombe County Veteran’s Council Memorial Team.
The family will receive friends following the service.

Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road is in charge of arrangements.

Your Father, Husband, and Grandfather was one of the most encouraging and positive men we have knowns. He always had encouraging words for us and everyone he met. We miss him.
