FRED ARTHUR (FREDDY) JOHNSTON OTEEN – Fred Arthur (Freddy) Johnston, 43, of 8 Spruce Drive, Oteen, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 20, 2010.
Freddy was preceded in death by his father, James Arthur Johnston; three half brothers, Tommy Sprouse, Ronnie Lee (Bo) Sprouse, and Rocky Lynn Sprouse; maternal grandparents William H. and Blanche E. Clement; and paternal grandparents Samuel Horace and Lula Johnston.
He is survived by his loving mother Lillie Mae Johnston; a brother, James Terry Johnston and a half brother, Roger Conley Sprouse; several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many friends.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Cantrell, the Rev. Powell Young, and Mr. Steven Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Flowers are appreciated or donations may be made to the family to assist with expenses.

Dear Lillie, I can not begin to tell you how very sorry I am to hear about Fred. My brother Joe and Fred have been friends for many years and Fred had a heart of gold, Joe will be so sad to hear this news. May you find peace Lillie that your child is now one of God’s angels and take comfort that Fred will be watching over you.

Ya know we didnt know each other for a long time ,but i can remember the first time Kim said Gary ya wanna ride up here and meet my brother, you will really like him!. And ya know what Freddy i found you were one of the kindess fellows i have ever met. I just loved your lil mom Lil she was so soft spoken and so sweet . I hope she gets through this tryng time ok .
