Fred J. Bryson

Mills River - Fred J. Bryson, 88, of 29 Rabbit Lane, died Monday, August 12, 2002. A native of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Everett V. and Leona Israel Bryson. He was an Army veteran of W.W. II and a retired auto mechanic. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Mr. Bryson is survived by his wife, Gladys Mundy Bryson; his son, Ronald Bryson, and his wife Doris, of Mills River; sister, Ida Lance of Fletcher; three brothers, Frank Bryson and Carroll Bryson of Mills River and Albert Bryson of Kingsport, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by one sister, Florine Crawford. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Revs. Walt Taylor and Greg Bell. Burial will follow in Shepherd Memorial Park. His family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road. Memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, N.
