Gale Stewart Wheeler, 84, of Asheville passed away Saturday Dec 7, 2024. She was the daughter of the late James Russell and Jane Elizabeth Dotson Stewart. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack D. Wheeler, and a grandson, Brandon Kelso.

Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her children, Cheryl Fore (Gene), Darlene Robinson (Jerry) and Stewart Moody; grandchildren, J.D. Lanning, Libby Ray, Matthew Robinson, Clinton Robinson, Brittney Thomas, and Gracelynn Moody; and 12 great grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday December 11, 2024 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave at 12:00pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

The family will hold a private graveside following the service.

  1. I am so sorry to hear this. I loved her. Worked with her years ago and had no idea she was not well. At least now she will be with her beloved husband in heaven. RIP my friend

    • I had the pleasure to work with Gale many years ago at Belk. She was one precious lady. So sorry to hear of her passing.

    and sweet to me. I knew her for many years. I know she is with the Lord, and I will see her again. I know she was happy to see Jack again. I will be working Wednesday, and unable to attend her service. Praying for all the family 🙏❤️🙏

  3. Nana welcomed us to the neighborhood many years ago. We spent many days on the porch swing talking. She loved Ellie and me and we loved her back. I an so grateful for the week we were able to spend together here in Georgia. I know she has reunited with Jack and singing and clogging with the angels. Rest easy, Nana. Forever in our hearts 💕

    We are praying that the God of all comfort will give you His “peace that passes understanding” during this challenging time in your life. We treasure those times that we have spent with you, Gene, and Libby in previous years.
