Gene Gunter
May 29, 1919 ~ February 4, 2002

Mr. Gunter was born in Maryville, TN and was a son of the late Pascal and Hester Jenkins Gunter. He grew up in Asheville and was an Army Air Corps veteran of WW II. He was a longtime employee of Parkland Chevrolet and Skyland Oldsmobile.
Surviving are his wife for more than 50 years, Nora Gunter; one son, Dr. Coke Gunter of Hickory; two granddaughters, Allison Brooks Gunter of Telluride, CO and Courtney Susanne Gunter of San Francisco, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, in the chapel of Central United Methodist Church, 27 Church Street, Asheville, with the Revs. Robert M. Blackburn, Jr. and Carol Ploch officiating.
His family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 27 Church Street, Asheville, NC 28801, or to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
I remember Gene when he worked for Coca-Cola.
