Geneva Catherine Gregory, 88, of Fairview, died Monday, December 30, 2013, at the Elizabeth House.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Andy and Eva Laughter Dimsdale. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John L. Gregory, sisters Pauline Nesbitt, Gladys Dalton, twin sister Eva Dimsdale, and brother Arthur Dimsdale.
Mrs. Gregory was an avid gardener, and she loved making quilts.
She is survived by children Alvin Gregory and wife Brenda, Doris Lytle and husband Jerry, Pat Fox and husband George, and Kim Spillars and husband Jerry; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Ronald Roberts officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
Our beloved mother is not dead, nor has she traveled far. She has stepped inside the pearly gates and left the gate ajar.

Rick & I send our deepest condolences. Geneva was a sweet lady. Jennifer & David always enjoyed going to see her when they were growing up. The Lord prepared a place for her and now today the Lord said its time to join me. She will be forever missed and remembered. Our prayers are with you and the family.
