Genevieve Varney Whiteside, 75, of 8 Derek Dr., Troutville, VA died Monday, August 13, 2007 at her residence.
A native of Detroit, MI, she was a daughter of the late Bud and Thelma Todd Varney.
Ms. Whiteside is survived by her daughters, Kathy Cannaday, of Troutville, and Laura Hackett, of Fairview; sons, Larry Whiteside, of Fletcher, David Whiteside, of New York, and Dean Whiteside, of Florida; 14 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Joe Yelton officiating.
Her family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
Memorials may be made to one’s local hospice.
