Genoa M. Murphy

February 17, 1915 ~ July 11, 1999

Genoa Montgomery Murphy, 84, of 140 Starnes Cove Road, Asheville, died Sunday, July 11, 1999, in an Asheville hospital.

Mrs. Murphy was born in Cherokee County and was a daughter of the late
William C. and Amanda L. Montgomery. She retired after 38 years with American Enka and was a member of Starnes Cove Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sisters, Myrtle Stiles of Candler and Geneva Travis of Asheville; a brother, Glenn Montgomery of Arden, and numerous nieces and
nephews, including LaDonna Smith of the home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Sams and Chuck Waldrup officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah View Memorial Park.

Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and suggest that for those who wish, memorials may be made to Starnes Cove Baptist Church.
