Mountain Home - George C. Foster, 65, of Holbert Road, died Saturday, November 24, 2001.

A native of Saluda, Mr. Foster was a resident of Buncombe County for most of his life and was the son of the late Elton and Callie Robertson Foster. He was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman and hunter and an employee of Artech, with 38 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Boykin Foster; two daughters, Kathy Tredinnick of Arden and Rita Williams of Rolesville, NC; two sons, Lt. Col. David Charles Foster of Seoul, Korea and George Elton Foster of Lewisville, Texas; two step-sons, Darrell Hamm of Mountain Home and David Hamm of South Carolina; two sisters, Mildred Quattrochi and Shirley Hamilton, both of Hendersonville and ten grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm Thursday in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian, conducted by the Rev. Roger Rearden.

Mr. Foster’s family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Long Shoals Road.
