George Hill Davis, Sr.

October 22, 1917 ~ May 26, 1999

George Hill Davis, 81, of Davis Creek Road, Candler, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, in an
Asheville health care center.

Mr. Davis was born in Haywood County, was a son of the late
Atley and Alma Smith Davis, and was married to Edna Ellis Davis, who died in 1996. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WW II and was a member
of Hominy Lodge #491, A.F. & A.M. He was retired from Western Carolina Tractor Co. and was a member of Davis Chapel United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline D. Bell of Lutz, FL; a son, George Hill Davis, Jr. of Candler; six grandchildren, Tony Young, Tonya Bell, and Kerie Bell of Lutz, FL, Jeff Davis and Anita Erb of Raleigh, and Brooke Ashlee Davis of the home, and three
great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be
at 11:00 am Friday at Piney Mountain United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. H.D. Houck officiating.Groce Funeral Home on
Patton Avenue is in charge of the arrangements.
