Bob and I worked together for several years at the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Dept. and no one could ask for a better friend. Bob did more for me than anyone at the Sheriff’s Dept ever did. He was a true friend and looked out for the people on his squad, all of them. I never got he hear him play his guitar but have heard he was amazing even played professionally at some point. You will be missed my friend and I do not call you friend lightly. Rest in Peace Bob Rainwater, I hope to see you again soon.

  7. I am saddened to hear Bob passed away. There were many nights, over 20 years ago, he would keep watch over me as I worked 3rd shift at a local gas station. His whole squad would come in to grab a coffee, get gas or just chat to make sure I was safe and ok.
I presented him with a framed photo as a thank you, that I heard he kept for years in his office.
My heart breaks for his wife, children and family & friends.
