George Samaan Kort, 78, of Asheville, NC, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at the CarePartners Solace Center.
Born June 12, 1943 in Palestine, Mr. Kort was a son of the late Samaan and Zahiyeh Kort. He was a graduate of College des Freres, and worked as a Christian tour operator, helping provide Christian-centered tours of the Holy Land.
Mr. Kort is survived by his brother, his sister, and his son, Simon Kort.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Lewis Memorial Park.

George Kort was a wonderful Christian gentleman. He was so admired by his friends at the Biltmore McDonalds Breakfast Club. He was kind, brilliant on so any issues. I am looking forward to a long visit with you in Heaven. Thanks for being such a great friend to all us.

I met Mr. Kort while working at the Downtown Post Office. He was such a pleasure to work with. the many times he visited our establishment. He was always a Gentlemen, Kind and Courteous. to everyone. I have not seen him in years but, often wondered about him. Some people just seem to stick in our mind and heart. He was one of those People. I will see him again!!!
