Gerald F. Touzinsky, 82, of Candler, NC passed away on March 24, 2016.
Born in Chicago, Illinois; Gerald attended Marquette University and obtained a PhD at the Institute of Research and Paper Chemistry in Appleton, WI. It was at Marquette where he met his beloved wife Ann.
Gerald's occupation was as a research paper chemist and he was an expert and leader in the field of paper pulping using Kenaf rather than trees to make paper. His various interests and hobbies and his unique sense of humor made him a joy to live with.
He served in the Army reserve Corps of Engineers and retired with the rank of Lt. Colonel.
Gerald leaves behind his dear wife of 58 years, Ann; his children Terry (Tom), Paul (Patti), John (Leslie), Ann (John) and his four grandsons Patrick, Brian, Jared and Neil.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Bess Touzinsky, his brother and sister-in-law Charles and Joanne and brothers –in-law Raymond Ellingen and Roland Freels. He is survived by his sister Carol and many nephews and nieces of whom he is very proud.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 6th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Candler NC. The Rev. Fr. Dean Cesa will officiate.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Joan of Arc Building Fund, 768 Asbury Rd., Candler, NC 28715.
