Gerald R. Garrison, 74, of Leicester, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe Co., he retired from Terry Bro. Construction in 2011. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Gerald traveled with the Simple Faith Quartet for five years, which he enjoyed very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Boneita Garrison; sons Roger and Keith Garrison; sister Faye Crow; and brothers Wayne and Mitchell Garrison.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Gillespie Garrison; granddaughters Sierra and Brooke Garrison; sisters Terry (David) Taylor, and Kathy (Jerry) Snowden; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Revs. David Scruggs and Paul Sluder officiating.
Interment will follow at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
