  1. Just a note ………… my mother Lucille Crisp Auman and Gertrude were dearest of friends from childhood. Gertrude and mother always kept in touch till my mothers death in 1991. Gertrude was very dear to me also. A very elegant lady. Very independent! She will be missed by many. Gertrude I love you!

  2. My prayers are with the family of Gertrude. I will always remember her. Sorry I will not be able to be a visitation due to church. May God guide you all through this dificult time. Just remember the good times with Gertrude and I know there are many. She was blessing to know and be around.

  3. Boyce, Harriet and Edwina,
I was sorry to hear about your mothers death. She and mama were neighbors for a long time and she was good to mama. Jim is coming to the funeral but I just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you.

  4. Boyce,
I just heard of your Mothers passing. I am so sorry. Even though
I did not know your Mother, I know she was a very special lady, because every time you mentioned her your face lit up and you always had a smile on your face. I’m sure she will be greatly missed. My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family.

  5. To the Family of Gertude Brown,
I was saddened to read of Mrs. Brown’s death. I have many pleasant memories of Mrs. Brown as she and my Mother, Martha Weir, worked together in the ‘Welfare Department’ in Buncombe County for many years. Please accept my sincere sympathy.

  10. Family of Gertrude,
We are sorry you have to experience loss and heartbreak. Love can hurt so bad.

Gertrude is our friend from way back. She gave me my first high heel shoes in a bag of ‘hand me down’ clothes she gave my family when my Dad worked on their dairy farm. We clapped and cheered when she and her mother would bring goodies to us. Gertrude taught me to make toasted cheese sandwiches and add a slice of pineapple back in 1950 when I was still a ‘bride’ learning to make meals for Doyle and me. She used my recipe to make coconut cream pie and I was so proud it was good. When Boyce was a baby she would say ‘Mae is his first love’ and I liked that.

We have lots of good memories of Gertrude and Ray but nothing to compare with yours. God loves you and may you know His tender blessings.

    Our thoughts and love,
    Mae and Doyle
