Gertrude Wilson Harding, 95, of 170 Indian Branch Road, died Friday, May 13, 2011. Mrs. Harding was born in Haywood County and was a daughter of the late Grayson and Jessie Mae Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Cecil Harding, Sr., and a son, James Cecil Harding, Jr. She was retired from American Enka and was a member of Mt. Moriah Wesleyan Church. She is survived by two daughters, Annette Brown and husband, Alan, of Morganton and Linda Harding of Candler; a son, Joseph Harding and wife, Mary, of Candler; a daughter-in-law, Jerri Harding of Candler; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Moriah Wesleyan Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in Mt. Moriah Wesleyan Church 30 minutes prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Mt. Moriah Wesleyan Church, 1 Fairmont Road, Candler, NC 28715.

  2. We had the honor of meeting Caye’s Grand Momma some 30 years ago When our Son married Caye.We fell in love with her she was our Nana also. Our Gandchildren Loved her so very much and she loved them. It will be so lonly with out her.She is in heaven now this I know without a doubt.She would say don’t be sad Just Make Plans to join me.Joe you have been Such a good and Caring Son.Linda you will miss her a lot you made life easier for her.She touched the life of so many people.
