It was just a few days ago, when Gisela stated she hoped for 10 more years…something I reassured her she most certainly would have.
Although we did not see each other often, when we did, it was full of laughter, good thoughts, often wise words from Gisela and simple kindness.
The world will be quite a bit emptier without her presence. She was a ‘tough one’, a true survivor in every sense of the word.
Yes, I will miss the ‘ole gal’, very much, and I won’t be alone…there is plenty of company within the community of friends she left behind.
I was fortunate to be one of Ms Heidt’s nurses during her stay at Asheville Specialty Hospital. I have to say that she truly was one of my favorite patients. I loved her honesty and strong sense of humor. I am very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.
Dear Gisela,
You are a true survivor, always smiling and never gave up hope. You made me laugh and you were the most honest person I have met. I loved to listen to your stories and will miss them so much, I will treasure your words of wisdom for you were a very smart lady. You gave me advice and guidance in many ways. I will miss talking to you every day as we did and saying good night to you each evening. You have touched my heart and soul and I will never forget you. I know you are looking down upon us now, and you are in a much better place. You will never be alone again Gisela. This memorial is for you. You are one hell of a lady and a dear friend. I will always remember you and the things you have told me not to forget. Our paths will cross again, until then I will listen to the wind and hear you. Your in Gods hands now. ‘Good Night’ Gisela and sleep well.
All my love! Your friend forever, Janet

She was a very unique Lady,I will never forget the Words of wisdom she had often shared with me’Accept people for the way they are because they will never change’these words have helped me overcome many obstacles, and I will cherish her memory .
I had come to know Gisela only this past year; through telephone conversations we had on occasion. I found her to be a very strong and candid woman that I could always share a laugh with, despite all the recent physical challenges she had dealt with. I’m sorry I never got to meet her in person. My thoughts are with you, members of her family.

Ms. Heidt was a very vibrant woman who would always make me laugh when she called our office at Skyland Prosthetics Company. She found humor in her situation when no one else could. She will be missed greatly. Rest in peace Ms. Heidt. You deserve it.
