Gladys Louise Sams

Gladys Louise Sams, 84, of Asheville passed away on Friday, April 4, 2003, at the Rickman Nursing Center. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late George Elmore and Sallie Kate Coleman Sams. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Hobert and Howard Sams and a sister, Blanche Gray. She retired from the VA Medical Center after 30 years of service and was a member of the Salvation Army. Miss Sams is survived by a brother, Gene Sams of San Antonio, TX; four nieces and a nephew, Pat Hurt, Frances Clark and Debbie Padilla of Asheville, Cindy Mutz of Beaufort, SC and Ed Sams of Edmond, OK. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Brigadier Martha Herring officiating.
