Gladys M. Davis, 94, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

She was born in Madison Co. to the late Matilda Price and Charles Lee Miller, Sr. She attended Sand Hill High School and Cecil’s Business College. She worked many places in her long life, lastly at Westall Chandley, where she retired from at age 83. Gladys never met a stranger and had many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Buddie S. Davis; brothers, Howard, C.L. and Paul “Buddy” Miller; and sisters, Robin, Mae, Nola, Nita, Frances and Violet.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Hoglen (Harold), Sharon Ponder (Bruce), Paula Lisowsky (Bill), and Pennie McConnell (Ricky); son, Scott Davis (Kim); “adopted” children, Stoney Norton and Donna Fox, and her special angel, Debra Martin. Also left to honor her are eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Her family will receive friends at Starnes Cove Baptist Church, where she was a member, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Her family is grateful to the staff at Emerald Ridge Rehab & Care Center and to hospice for their help and many kindnesses, and also to the many people who visited Mrs. Davis.
