Gladys Wyatt Watts, 81, of 200 Tunnel Road, Asheville Terrace Apartments, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007, at Elderberry Health Care Center in Marshall. Mrs. Watts was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Elbert E. and Nancy Jane Allen Wyatt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Rufus Watts, who died in 1994, a daughter, Myrna Duckett, who died January 20, 2007, a grandson, Jeremy Christopher Ramsey, three brothers, Ed, Frank and Ralph Wyatt, and a sister, Effie Patterson. Surviving are a granddaughter, Angela D. Austin and her husband, Michael, of Candler; a sister, Marie Laster and her husband, Harold, of Kodak, TN; and two brothers. Grover White and his wife Peggy, of McCormick, SC, and Marion Wyatt of Asheville. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Brockwell officiating. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.

  1. I know what it’s like losing a mother and grandmother.Aunt Gladys was a very special person. She lived her life through Christ very few people can say that.She was the most giving person to everyone she knew.I know she will be missed. My thought and prayers are with you. God bless you.
