Glenda Towery Penley, 74, of Candler, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024, at her home.
A native of Dallas, NC, Glenda was a daughter of the late A.V. and Minnie Lee Fortenberry Towery.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Shifflett (Forest); son, Steven Rice (Katrina); nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and sisters, Wanda Towery and Pinkie Witherspoon.
Funeral services are tentatively set for Monday, October 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Asheville, with Pastor Shekinah Schwartz officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
