Glenice J. Goode, 92, formerly of Bear Creek Apartments, Asheville, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, in the Blowing Rock, NC hospital. Mrs. Goode was born in Winfield, TN and was a daughter of the late Rufus L. and Lucinda Ryan Jones. She was married to the late N. Eugene Goode. She was the last surviving charter member of Enka Baptist Church and was a member of the Chatmore Club and the Enka Lake Bridge Club. She was a former real estate broker and she and her husband owned and operated the Westgate Toy and Hobby Shop. She is survived by three daughters, Sylvia Herbert of Dallas, TX, Peggy Burton of Orlando, FL and Patricia Brown of Lenoir; one son, Philip Goode of Winston-Salem; fourteen grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 4:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating. Private interment will be at Green Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, SE Division, 2200 Lake Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30319.

  4. Dear Peggy, & family, I remember your mother well and the only difference in this picture and the way I remember her is her white hair. She was always a beautiful woman, kind and gracious as well. You have my deepest sympathies. Call me sometime – 828-667-7806
