Goldie Evelyn Kuykendall Young, 90, of Asheville, died Monday, March 12, 2012, at the Laurels of Summit Ridge.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Elijah and Survilla Elizabeth Ball Kuykendall. She was also preceded in death by a son, Emil Dennis Young, Jr.
Mrs. Young had been associated with Young's Sheet Metal and Roofing for over 40 years.
Mrs. Young is survived by her husband, Emil Dennis Young, Sr.; a son, Harrison Cecil Young and wife Judith; grandchildren E. Dennis Young, III, Lisa Young, Christine Kavanagh and husband Glenn, and Dianne Young; sisters Ruby Graham and Jewell Blankenship; and brothers Elijah Kuykendall, Jr., Hartman Rankin Kuykendall, and Bobby Lee Kuykendall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzeimer's Association, 31 College Pl., Ste. D320, Asheville, NC 28801.

To All the Young Family:
Bill & I would like to express our sympathy to all of you upon hearing of the death of Mrs.Young. She lived a long life. We thought so much of Mr.& Mrs. Young. Bill & I were neighbors of Dennis & Dianne on Brookwood during the 70’s. Our boys grew up with Denny, Lisa & Chris & also Christine. Please know that we have many fond memories of all the family & each of you is in our heart & prayers.
