Gordon Calvin Cook, 57, of Asheville, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018, following an extended battle with cancer.
A native of Waco, TX, Gordon was a son of the late Rev. Mr. Thomas Erwin Cook and Norma Brake Cook. A resident of Buncombe County since 1971, Gordon was a 1979 graduate of Enka High School. He attended AB Tech and received an Associates Degree in Accounting, but spent his career in restaurant and retail management.
Gordon was a member and Elder of Oak Forest Presbyterian Church, where he loved teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School.
Surviving are his brothers, Erwin Farel Cook, Stephen Thomas Cook, and Vance Armstrong Cook and his wife, Angela; niece, Tanya Feinleib; and nephews, Austin and Tyler Cook.
Funeral services for Mr. Cook will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday at Oak Forest Presbyterian Church, with Pastor David Morgan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Forest Presbyterian Church, 880 Sand Hill Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.

What a blessing Gordon was to so man, he made this world a better place. He had a kind and very giving heart. His sense of humor, love for music, old movies, children, friends, family and of course, Snoopy will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers for his family and his extended family, Chris & Traci during this time and the days ahead. What a joy it was to be his friend. May the Lord give you comfort and peace
