Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Grace and I poured over many a genealogy puzzle. I enjoyed her expertise and humor. We rode to Madison County meetings talking gardening and history and families all the way. I will remember her fondly. Sadly I will be out of town Thurday but she would say ‘go girl’ it is to the National Genealogy Convention! My deepest sympathy to the family.

  2. Grace was a wonderful mentor for me at OBCGS and over the years shared much history of Leicester and Buncombe County with me. All of us at OBCGS will miss her.

  3. To The Family,

When I was little I can remember many occasions where Grace would help me pick a special rose out of her garden for my mother. Grace was such a wonderful woman and neighbor to my parents and I. My thoughs and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

  4. Jack, Loretta & Susan, Our thoughs and prayers are with you. Grace will be missed at Abernethy
    Mike & Edith

  5. Mrs. Greene was my first and second grade teacher. I have many wonderful memories of her. I remember her taking me home one day from school to see our new home. We exchanged Christmas cards for many years. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing. She was a great inspiration to me.

  6. So sorry to hear of Mrs. Greene’s passing. I was an assistant to her in 1978. She taught me a lot of things that I remember to this day. She was a very smart lady. I know she will be missed. Keeping each of you in my prayers.

  7. Susan and Loretta, sorry for the loss of your mother. I still have the papers( from 1989) where she charted that we are 6th cousins, as well as Susan’s letter ( ‘I know my mother better than she will ever admit!’…where when you told her that your bus driver ( to the NC outerbanks) was Bill Duckett, that you’d better know my lineage. I still use her chart to decipher kinship.
Bill Duckett ( drove for TPI Tours)

  8. Although I never knew your mother, I can tell she was a wonderful, loving person because both of her daughters turned out to be such caring and thoughtful people. I will keep both of you in my prayers and also your father.
