Grace Owen Reese

Grace Owen Reese, 93, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019, at her home.

A native of Transylvania County, Mrs. Reese was a daughter of the late Luther Calvin and Ethel McCall Owen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Foy Reese (1987) and by siblings, Thelma Tritt, Nola Pruitt, Marjorie Tritt, L.C. Owen, Elsie Owen, Edna Hanson, Annie Belle Owen and Cumile Galloway.

Mrs. Reese loved her Lord Jesus Christ and she was a former member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. This precious lady was a loving homemaker, devoted to her family and she served as a mother to all. She also enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens.

She is survived by daughters, Wanda Reece (James), Gloria Miller (Chris) and Marcella Reese; grandchildren, Jeremy Reece (Jamie), Kristin Dulaney (Edward) and Casey Miller; great-grandchildren, Eddie Dulaney, Grayson Dulaney and Colton Reece; and sisters, Veda McGuire and Vivian Watkins. She is also survived by Melody Richardson, whom she loved like a daughter.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. James King officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
